Calling all geeks

There are times when something sparks the beginnings of an idea. Yesterday's geekage seems to have had this effect.

I have a proposition for you........bet it's ages since someone said that ;)

I feel the time may be right to launch a Geek League.

Vote now using my geekily prepared widget ------------------------>>>>>>

If the outcome of the vote is a big geeky YES then I'll do some equations and put together some suitably geeky actions and the points earned by doing them.

If you think I've finally lost the plot and would much rather I just shut up and did some sewing do please tell me......

The poll will be open until Monday night at 8pm...or later if no-one votes!!

If anyone knows how to do fancy schmancy geeky league tabley type html blog widgets please shout now......there's a hefty bonus 50 geek points in it for you

xxxx

edited to say: the Geek League will take place over a set time period, after which there will be a suitably geeky award for Top Geek .

You've got to be in it to win it :)

um, I have to admit, I have no idea what you're talking about. It must be because I'm not a geek!

I like to learn something new - and I know no Geek at the moment, so I'm up for a lesson/trial/experiment or two. Will we have to dress as guinea pigs??

Can someone open a book on this please, because I'd like to place a bet on Val thrashing the rest of us.

Well, I consider myself more of a nerd than a geek. And certainly a pedant. Count me in.

sorry, I had to be a "wot?" does this mean I hopeless, or does it mean I am so geeky I don't even recognize the condition???

Sadly, I feel my geek-ness is unreliable (at best)and is greatly influenced by the subject matter...Can TBG be my designated-hitter?

Hurrah! I feel blessed that you've already given me a head start with those 13.5 points. Thanks everso!

But sadly I fear they may be the only ones I achieve, as I'm not actually that geek orientated. I'm married to a massive one though .... so I should get bonus points for that, surely??

:)

Geek? Moi?
Just because I chatted up a physicist and got a poster of the Atlas machine in the LHC?
Or is it the fact I'm seriously considering putting it up in the kitchen?

I'm with Mrs Marmadaisy - probably more nerd than geek (although according to the little geek/nerd/dork quiz on her blog I'm actually a cool nerd. Best of both worlds! Woo hoo!)

Count me in :)

Thanks for my points :) I only just saw your comments (for some reason blogger didn't tell me about them???)
Apostrophes are used to denote possession: therefore the mum belonging to Moog is Moog's Mum. Or Moog'smum. But it doesn't matter, because then it doesn't look right at all. I'm just being a nerd.
I have been known to correct shop signs in pen.

Ooh, ooh, pick me, Mrs. Moogsmum!
I have demonstrated the use of a siphon in the kitchen sink, played with custard for scientific purposes, stroke books and have spent TWO entire days counting and measuring limpets...the only conclusion that I drew from this research was that sitting on a very big limpet leaves a very big bruise.

I'm more of a science nerd, but count me in!
