Happy Mothering Sunday...or..What, no lie in?

As it is Mothering Sunday here in the UK I had plans. Plans for a nice lazy lie in.

Why then am I on the computer at 8.20am blogging??

The babies (after some persuading) are tidying their rooms.

Minx in her room playing her Pop Party 4 CD.

Monster in his playing his McFly CD.

Moogsdad sitting in our bed watching Match of the Day.

That is why I'm here!!!

There's been a frenzy of card making activity in Moogsville this week.

Minxie made this lovely one for Grandma, who we will be seeing later today :)

I can see me having to make that one into an applique very soon.

As a mother of two I have of course received eight ( edited to say - make that nine!!) cards - six (seven!!) from Minx and two from Monster!!

I think something strange happened to me yesterday.

I felt like cleaning!!!

I went to Sainsbury's and stocked up on cleaning stuff.

Nipped out to buy a new mop and bucket.

Minx helped by covering the kitchen floor with vast quantities of water that I then had to mop up mopping the kitchen floor.

The house doesn't look much tidier but I know it has clean bits now and it doesn't smell of old dog any more.

As it's Mother's Day my thoughts have been very much with my Mum. I miss her with all my heart. Every single day.

In my heart I'm giving her a great big hug.

Love you Mum.

Whatever today brings for you, whether you are a daughter, a son (yer never know!) or a Mum I hope you have a peaceful and happy day.

xxxxx

My smalls aren't home from their dad's yet :-( I was awake at 6.30 - typical, eh? Can't do it in the week, but somehow manage it at weekends! - so had myself a long hot bath, and some leisurely breakfast.

I was thinking about you and and your mum yesterday - I'm sure she's 'with you' today (and lots of other days too).

That card of Minx's is wonderful - she's obviously an artistic one - wonder where she gets that from? ;-)

Have a lovely day hun. x

Your mum looks just as lovely as I imagined her - so nice to see a photo. I have been thinking about you and about today all week - hope you are ok xxxxx

Love all the cards from Minxie - she really loves her mummy doesn't she? And two from the Monster too - you've been spoilt!

We are off to see my mum and dad now (complete with a baby owl for Mum's present - pics later)

Sending you lots of hugs

Like other commenters have said, I've been thinking of you and your Mum over the last day or two. Hope you are doing OK today and enjoying the happy memories.

Also, congratulations of all NINE of your cards! What lovely sproglets you have (and again, to echo other commenters, those kiddiewinks are clearly very artistic souls. Good work on your part for spreading the 'crafty gene'!)

Take care Moogsmum,
Vcxx

PS Just realised - if you are Moogsmum does that mean you should've got a card from The Moog, too??

Thats a lovely load of cards, especially the flower one in the middle, and the cup of tea.

If/when your mum's not around, Mother's Day seems a bit pointless. Especially if its the first one afterwards.

You are so fortunate to have such wonderful feelings about your Mum. And your babies are so fortunate to have you!

(hope you don't mind such a personal comment from a reader you don't know. Your posts about your Mum really hit home!)

Have a hug from me just for you because your mum's not here.

You're right, it would make a fab applique, she has talent (even for cleaning, bet that doesn't last) and nine cards?!?!?! Whoo you.

I've been thinking of you today - hope it has been full of fun with your littlies and full of lovely memories of your mum.

And you beat me on the cards - I only got 5 (I think there were 2 more somewhere but they couldn't find them today). Funny things!

A lovely post, Lesley, I hope you had a great Mother's Day with some lovely memories.

I can't believe you got so many cards! You've obviously raised a couple of fabulous children.

:)

ps. I'm just a teeny tiny bit upset that you've posted pictures of industrious house cleaning ON THE VERY DAY that I post pictures of my mess. Grrr!

Happy Belated Mothers Day to you, Moogsmum! I can understand how you miss your mum very much, the memories of her passing are still very fresh in your mind. I have no kids, so Mothers Day just means memories of my mum, as much as I love having them, the day does bring a lot of sadness to me too. x
