There've been times this week when I haven't known whether to laugh or cry - I think they call that shock, huh?
Thank you all so very much for all your wonderful comments and emails of support - I cannot begin to tell you how much it means to us.
Moogsdad is on the mend. The GP has checked him over and confirmed that all his symptoms are what you would expect when you hit a car head first at 30mph.
He slept for most of the 48 hours after the accident. He's been awake more since Monday and trying to get to grips with all the insurance and legal crubbish that needs sorting - just why is there so much?!
Poor love has been walking round in a daze. His short term memory has been affected - resulting in some quite bizarre and hilarious conversations. Apparently, this will improve as his brain recovers from the battering it received. He's drawn himself a mind-map on the computer to help him remember all the people involved - his inner geek is obviously intact :-)
We visited his poor bike - some of which was still inside the car! We also saw the state of the car and that really made us realise just how lucky he was to get away with 'multiple soft tissue injury'.
Both his and my employers have been incredibly kind and supportive - I've even got a month's extension on the stinky report! I'm going out to work tomorrow....and may turn the gas, water and electricity off before I go just in case he does anything daft!
To make this week even better, our bedroom is being plastered today - which means I moved two wardrobes, two chests of drawers, two bedside cabinets and a king-size bed out of there, on my own, yesterday!! I did suggest to Moogsdad that we postpone it for a week or so but he wanted it done and out of the way - bless him ;-)
In the midst of all this chaos, I have finished Monster's socks and the first of my next pair! Don't think I've ever knitted so fast in my life before!
Hopefully, normal service will resume shortly but please excuse me if I don't manage to read or comment on your blogs this week - I still love you all and will be back soon!!

I'm so glad Moogsdad is on the mend. Scary, scary stuff these bike accidents. LOL @ retaining his inner geek though (and I just know that knowing that he has made you feel just that little bit better about the whole thing ;)).
Hope his recovery is swift.....swift enough to help you move all that furniture back!!

crikey - somehow I missed this terrible news. I'm so glad he's on the mend, hopefully he'll back to normal super fast. Poor thing, give him a big hug from me, won't you?
In the meantime...could you make the most of his short term memory loss and get him to do most of the housework/make you cups of tea? Worth a try, surely?
Thank god (or anyone else) that the inner geek is unharmed, that really would have been a disaster!
Glad things are starting to get back to normal(ish).
Hugs, xxx
Some men will go to any lengths to not have to shift furniture. Glad to hear his 'inner geek' stays strong, I feel sure this will result in his recovery being mapped with scientific precision.
Hope you are holding up well, Apologies for the non-return of text but my phone went on the fritz mid-message. I have been thinking of you.
Sleep is such a healer, you both need to take it easy.
Perhpas Moogsdad could take up knitting too, to pass the time while he recuperates!
Oh Ms. Moog. I do hope everything is back to normal soon. In the meantime...run out and buy some fabric -- he'll never remember that you haven't had it for awhile LOL!
I'm so glad to hear that Moogsdad is recuperating well and retaining his geeky mind-map nature - I so understand the need to do things like that!
Perhaps you could take advantage of his memory problems when it comes to buying your birthday presents - maybe you could get fool him into getting you twice as many as normal?!

Thanks for the update. I was wondering just how the Man of the House was and how you are coping. It's so nice to hear that he is on the mend. Well done for moving all that furniture. It will be worth the effort when it's all done. Sending cyber hugs across the miles to you both.
Goodness! No idea how I missed this hapening! So, so glad that things seem to be okay.
Hugs to all the Moogfamily.
Sounds like you've had as much fun moving the furniture around as we've had moving 15 years worth of junk out of our loft!
Glad Moogsdad is recovering - he's very lucky!
Sorry to hear of the accident. I hope he gets back to normal soon.
Someone pulled out infront of my husband a couple of weeks but they were both in cars. His car was written off but they were both ok. It's a pain sorting out insurance etc but never mind.
(((hugs))) to you both...I hope the next few days and weeks get easier. I guess all you can do is take one day at a time.
The short term memory loss is something Richard Hammond and his wife talked extensively about in his book following his crash...granted it was on a different scale, but she wrote quite a bit about the bizarre conversations. Must be par for the course. TTFN :o)
Everyone's said what I was going to so just take things easy between you and hopefully enjoy your new bedroom soon. You really must take advantage of Moogsdad's short term memory quirks tho! I hope everyone/thing survives your going to work tomorrow. Take care xx
Sending lots of love your way. Hope Moogsdad gets back to normal very soon... but I'm sure you could use the short term memory loss to your advantage in the meantime!!
Poor him. Poor you. Must be horrid. Surely a little fabric retail therapy is in order for your shock, for moving all that 'stuff' and for just being so fab? Do it now, and his short term memory loss will mean he can't remember that you did it ;-)
Hope the plastering went ok, and that your day back at work goes ok tomorrow.
Much love, xx
Poor Moogsdad, and poor you! I bet you didn't sleep for much of that 48 hours, did you?
I'm glad he's on the mend; geek signs are very encouraging!
Glad he is on the mend! He really is very lucky. And good news on the plastering front too! xx
If Moogsdad's drawing mindmaps he's deffo going to be fine Mrs M. It'll probably last days, at most a couple of weeks from what I've read. Sending him thoughts..
Carrying on regardless and shifting that furniture? Sounds like a medal of valour is in order for the pair of you.
Keep on knittin'

So glad Moogsdad is on the mend and hope you are feeling fine too.

have been thinking of you and mr Moog lots and am soo glad he's on the mind - i know what you mean about the mind thing tho - i had a nasty fall off my horse a few years ago and i still can't remember anything about the day at all! I nearly drove my family mad because i kept having the same conversation over and over again for the best part of a day!!!
am sending lots of love and hugs.

Glad he's recovering. Such a dreadful, scary thing, you must be pretty shaken up. Sending good thoughts your way...
Good to hear your hubby is on the mend but this all sounds really bad for your poor nerves. You'll have to make sure you get a break soon too. I can't begin to imagine how to cope with a situation like this. Cherrie
phew! glad to hear Moogsdad is recovering well. Easy to say don't over do it MM but mind your back shifting furniture. take care, hugs Jane x
Good to hear he is on the mend. Hopefully in time to move the furniture back!
Might not be a bad idea to turn everything off in the meantime ;-)

Well that's what I get for being awol for so long--I miss all the news. I'm so grateful on your behalf that your hubby wasn't badly hurt. My goodness. I hope things can get back to comfortingly normal very soon for all of you.
good to hear he is on the mend. Good on you for hauling all the bedroom furniture out on your own - that is impressive!
Good to hear Moogsdad is on the mend.
Hey there, now listen to me!!!
You have nough on your plate at the minute without worying about whther or not you are keeping up with blogland.
Fret not! Everyone will still be here when you get back. Take some time and be kind to yourself...
make sure you take care of yourself too in amongst all this : )
and make the most of the short term memory loss, didn't he say you could go shopping with his credit card just before this happened? ; )
Just wanted to add my best wishes, hope Moogsdad is continuing to get better.
