It's been so shocking to see the news coming out of Australia right now.
For all you lovely Aussie bloggers - I'm hoping and praying you and yours stay safe.
For everyone else - Jodie and Trashy have both blogged about how you can help. Please follow their links.
Moogsdad's brother, sis-in-law and three kids live in Pakenham, Victoria - about 20km from the fire. Fortunately, the wind is blowing the fire away from them right now. They have friends who have lost everything. They know of firefighters who have bravely tackled these terrifying fires only to discover their own families have been wiped out.
It's impossible to comprehend the terror of this situation - it's also impossible to comprehend that some of the fire may have been started by arsonists. Why?
Stay safe :-)

It's such a horrendous situation, impossible to watch the news without crying today. And utterly incomprehensible that people might have started some of these on purpose.
It is horrific and mind boggling that people can be so cruel.
Holly (http://twocheeseplease.livejournal.com/) has also blogged about how us overseas can help out.
words cannot describe adequately the situation in australia - its beyond comprehension.

It's dreadful isn't it? :-( x
It's terrifying to think of those poor families. The vox pops on the news from some of those who'd lost loved ones or their homes in the fires were heartbreaking. Thanks for highlighting this Lesley. I hope your BIL and his family stay safe (and my sis too). Emma x
I can't believe another Human being could inflict this upon anyone. My heart goes out to all Australians.
