Happy hooking

There's been a huge amount of inspirational crochet in the blogosphere of late. It started here, then I saw some here and when I saw it here I just knew I had to join in too!

Lucy at Attic24 posted some fab instructions for the hexagons and they are really easy.

I soon got the hang of it....and then stopped referring to the instructions....which is why the top three look slightly different from the bottom four in the right hand photo!!!

I did quite a few 'wrong' before I realised. Instead of panicking I decided to leave those ones as they were and change back to doing them Lucy's way - I'm possibly the only one who'll know anyway - well, apart from all of you that is!

One thing I did do was look really carefully at Lucy's blanket and realised that I love how all the hexagon centres are the same colour which somehow seems to tie it all together.

After a very busy and, at times, stressful week at work this was the perfect antidote.

Not a lot else got done round here this weekend. I started on Friday evening and am now on my 31st hexagon!

Never fear though - I did get my three baskets of ironing done too!

I'm pleased to say I'm feeling 100% better now and have a slightly quieter week ahead at work. Hopefully I'll get to catch up on some of your blog posts.

Right now I'm off to watch Dancing on Ice with the kiddlies....and maybe have a play with a bit more woolly geometry :-)

I'm so flipping jealous that you have managed to do so many hexagons! I'm way behind!!! Partly because I started a second set in wool this time, partly because I've got a temperemental (can't spell any more) elbow and mostly because I have always had a big behind!

OK, I can't resist any more, I am going to have to try and teach myself to crochet now! I spotted a couple of books that looked quite good in the library last week, so I'm going to see if they're still there and then it'll be off to the yarn shop!!

Wow - they look absolutely gorgeous. Well done you. I'm not good enough at crochet to attempt those, but I have been looking at lots of ripple blankets and am seriously considering having a bash. Maybe even in the foreseeable future? Gosh, did I really type that out loud?

Glad you are better - I now have another cold - did you breath on the screen when you were at my blog?

Sheesh. I don't think I have done 3 baskets of ironing in a year let alone in one go...

Your 'circlagons' are simply smashing there Missus, best way for using recuparation time I can think of. Plus Josie is right - she does look like a bag lady ;-)

Love the crochet, but it took four attempts and some help from Gina before I got the hang of the ripple blanket. Not sure I would be able to manage this one, you are so talented.
Glad your feeling better.

Those hexagons are just gorgeous and now I'm going to have to make some... perhaps I should finish my ripple blanket first? Pleased you're feeling better.

No! No! No!

I do not need another project on my list.

Stop it! Stop it with the crocheted goodness before I'm forced to succumb and go in search of my #4 crochet hook when I get home!!! Arrghhhhh!!!

Lubbly hexagons by the way ;)

Fab hexagons, best form of recuperation.

Beautiful hexes there Mrs M, in such lovely colours. Hooking has certainly hit blogland (in a good way) and I too have succumbed to its woolly charm. I just wish I could match your output!!

Great hexagons! Makes me want to finish a couple of hexagon afghans I started last year! Three baskets of ironing? I'd rather be hooking!

OH WOWWWWWWWWWOWOWOWOWOW!!!!!!!!!!!
Love love love that hexagons are spreading like wildfire!
Yours look stunning, I am so impressed.
And the yellow centres too, yes, I agree that having a small amount of what I call "constant" in amongst a lot of randomness works really well overall.
Oh happy happy hooking to you!
