He was sent to school this morning knowing that the only way he'd manage to wangle another day off was to be actually properly physically sick/unconscious!
What a terrible Mother I am - it has been more lovely than I can say to have my head all to myself today and to finish off some WIPs.
Some stitchery on the pink and purple cat nightmare cushion:
Now onto something much more fun.
I've really enjoyed making this quilted cushion for Minx's little friend's birthday. Much more my colours :)
The small flower fabrics are from a bargain schmargain bundle of fat quarters (8 for £4.99!!!! - I know!!!!) from Hobbycraft. The large flower print is vintage Mary Quant from my Mother-in-law.
I'm now making a start on my messenger bag for this week's challenge and we've put up a sneak preview of our chosen fabrics. I'm not going to let the fact that Lucy's groovy fabrics are far yummier than mine get to me - really I'm not!!!
Why do I need to have fabric envy when I have in fact had the very exciting news that I have won Kaz's 100th blog giveaway!!!! Kaz does the most beautiful papercrafts and is making an embellished notebook for the lucky winner - ME!!!!
I'll be able to keep my beautiful new notebook in my 'quietly sophisticated' new messenger bag :)
Thank you so much Kaz - finding out I'd won your beautiful prize and also reading this from Monkee Maker has made this a very happy day indeed - apart from the fabric envy -grrrrrrrrrrrrr!
hugs xxxxx

Your fairy cushion is gorgeous and I love that purple fabric that we only get a mingy little glimpse of on the side of the scary cat cushion! Congratulations on winning Kaz's giveaway and thank you for providing the inspiration for Monkee Maker's latest post! If you stop complaining I might even send you some of my new fabrics - coz I'm nice like that!!! Lucy xxx
That Missus Locket, she is a sharing kind of girlie, huh?
Congratulations on winning a giveaway, a handmade and detailed notebook esp. for you sounds like a fabulous prize indeed! If it helps the fabric envy rest in the knowledge I shall have the notebook version!!
That red fairy cushion is wonderful. Well done you. Glad to hear Sausage is on the mend - I was wondering if you'd had to deal with more upchucking :-(
Take care. xx
Glad the little ones are better. The fairy patchwork cushion is lovely, great fabrics.
Lovely cushion, Lesley :o) And good news about the littlies being on the up-and-up now, lurgie-wise.

I really don't think you should have fabric envy as these are beautiful pillows... I can't believe you've done all this so quickly!!! Do you ever sleep?
My son was home today, sick, but he's going back tomorrow!!
Glad to hear both of your munchkins are better. And, perhaps more importantly, back at school, leaving you free to post here and to make lovely stuff.
Beautiful cushions
I'm glad you had a happy day, Lesley, they really are the best kind to have ;)
The cushion is fab - your stitching skills are amazing.
And thanks for the link and for providing me with such photogenic material!
:)
Congratulations on winning the giveaway. I followed the link and Kaz's work is beautiful. Glad to hear the Minx and Monster are both back in their rightful places, at school! The cushion is lovely, beautiful stitching and that Mary Quant fabric is very distinctive.
Okay, now that stitching is just gorgeous! Your fabrics are adorable! I am so envious of you getting to go to a HobbyCraft! If I ever get to England, that is my first stop! Try explaining that to a tour guide! Congrats on winning a giveaway!!!
